Safety Precautions
It is important to remember that our presentations are with live animals and animals can, at times, be unpredictable. That said, I have years of experience in keeping reptiles and reading their behaviors, which allows me to ensure the safety of the animals and those attending a presentation.
The animals that we bring are well-socialized and there is little risk of injury or bites. WPS Reptiles does follow certain precautions in order to maintain the safety of our animals and those at our presentations. Rules and expectations are always reviewed prior to a show.
Our Rules
Animals that are safe for children to hold are always held under the direct supervision of WPS Reptiles staff.
Larger reptiles, such as Burmese Pythons, Argentine Tegus, and American Alligators, are held only by WPS Reptiles staff and audience members are allowed to pet.
Snakes can be handled by children only if WPS Reptiles staff hold the animal's head.
Persons over 18 are allowed to hold animals independently for photo opportunities.
We ask that attendees do not attempt to pet animals' heads or try to feed animals, as this can increase the risk of a bite.
Attendees who interact with our animals are provided hand sanitizer after the show and/or are encouraged to wash their hands to prevent the spreading of any germs.
Any dogs, cats, or other animals in the home (or that are present at the event) must be safely put away in another room for the entire duration of the presentation.
